I’m excited to finally share this beautiful vow renewal that I photographed back in August. This event was recently featured on Offbeat Bride!
Janessa and Tyler’s vow renewal was such an emotional event that I was thrilled to be a part of in documenting for them. They never had the chance to have a traditional wedding because Janessa’s father passed away right before their wedding was planned for. Considering the circumstances, they cancelled the big celebration and eventually decided to start a family. 3,111 days later, they were finally able to say “I do” surrounded by their family, friends and children at their vow renewal. Because they were engaged in front of a waterfall, they decided to have their vow renewal ceremony in front of one of the waterfalls at Robert H. Tremen State Park. Rev. Michelle Wahila officiated their beautiful vow renewal ceremony.
The happy couple rocked a vintage 1970s inspired look for the big day. Janessa wore a custom made dress with oversized sleeves designed by Elsie Vee Vintage who used a vintage pattern to create the dress. Tyler complemented Janessa’s bridal style with a casual look complete with a vintage tie and boutonnière. A peacock and love bird theme was also present throughout the day in honor of her late father and as a symbol of rebirth. Their celebration included a French champagne toast, locally brewed beer and a visit to an alpaca farm overlooking Lake Cayuga.
